What I Learned

Throughout this research I learned new terms that are typically used in the pharmaceutical field. For example, before this project I never knew what "list price" and "discount price" were. I was able to create graphs based on this new knowledge and also learned how to find data that supported my argument. I really enjoyed finding data from Rhode Island since we live here and I didn't know much about it before. The pharmaceutical industry and data from companies or the government tend to be very complicated and hard to understand, my goal for this project was to present information in a way that everyone could comprehend so that they could have an opinion on this matter. I believe conducting primary research was a significant part of this project, it is important to learn how to connect with people on a professional level and learning about the viewpoints of other people. Although my interview was helpful and it was nice to talk to a person in the industry, I felt as if the information gained from the interview did not directly support or relate to my topic enough. If I were to redo a primary source I would definitely choose a survey based off of chronically ill patients in Rhode Island. Overall, I gained a lot from this project and know so much more about the field of study that I am in.
